Way to check app compatibility with new phone?

A

AC Question

I'm purchasing a new phone soon, and it's not made here in the US. I'm interested in seeing what apps I currently have will work on it, since I have run into issues with apps not working with particular phones.

I've looked around a bit and I can't seem to find anything that will tell me what apps will and will not work with the device. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thank you!

You won't find any. Once you have the phone, open Play Store. If you see the app, it's compatible. Or, once the phone is registered with your Google account, go to Google Play and find the app. If it says some of your devices are compatible, scroll down and set the dropdown to the new phone. If the Install button is still active, it's compatible.

If the decision to buy the phone rests with compatibility, you have a problem, and if it's a cheap Chinese version of a well-known phone it may not even be Play Store compatible (IOW, you won't be able to get apps from the Play Store, even if the app is compatible).
