Really, 1.2 GB? Where do I fit this?

Hello and thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I have a Sony Xperia, a few months old.
I was about to download Lollipop, but it seems it wont fit. It´s telling me to install it on the internal storage, but there isn´t enough room, which is disappointing because the phone is recently new and I have almost nothing on it (no music, no movies)!

So, what´s that about? And how should I proceed if I want to update to Lolli.

Hi Daniel, Welcome to Android Central!

Do you have any other files on the device? e.g. Photos or other types of downloads? I would suggest going into system settings > storage and see what is consuming the available memory on the device. Delete or move those files to another source (e.g. Google Drive, Computer, etc.) and see if that frees up the memory for the update.
