will a magnetic charging dock still charge my phone if the battery is flat

the charging port on my xperia z has snapped off so im unable to charge the phone the regular way, bought a magnetic charger dk26 but unsure if its charging the phone or not. battery has been flat on it for 4 weeks now

So far as I know, nothing will charge the battery if it's truly fully discharged, but that's unlikely to be the case. If the charger you're using doesn't do it, perhaps the broken USB port has rendered the phone unable to charge the battery even using a non-USB-port method.
