Will I lose my pictures if I clear my Camera's data and cache?

I'm having trouble with my camera and I have to clear it's cache and data. I want to know will I lose any of my pictures or videos? Like do I need to move them on my hard drive then move them back on my phone? It's just that I have too many pictures so it's gonna take time.

Welcome to Android Central!

It should not delete all your pictures if you clear the data from the camera. You should back them up regardless of your action. I would download the new Google Photos app and back up all my photos to the cloud. They give you unlimited storage if you chose that option. Or back them up to your PC if you are not comfortable with backing them up to Google Photos. I can say personally I have used Google Photos back up since it came out and love it. They are automatically backed up just in case anything happens to my phone.

As itguyjax said, clearing data shouldn't delete the pictures, but they should already be backed up. Driving a truck over the phone when you drop it in the street will definitely delete all the pictures. (I just copy them to my desktop, and from there they get backed up to 2 cloud accounts. Everything, even apps, on my phone is backed up that way.)

Clearing the cache on any app won't delete any data you have in the app.

So last night, to free up space I need, I moved pics from internal to SD card. The move was completely successful. Then I deleted the pictures from my internal drive. Then I cleared the cache. Every picture that I had not backed up is gone. I spent a long time doing everything I could but couldn't bring them back. Perhaps you all know of a way that I can bring them back.

Did you verify that the photos were moved to the SD card before you deleted them? Also have you tried connecting your phone to a PC to see if the files show up on your SD card?

Long-press a picture and it'll get a checkbox - as will all the other pictures. Tap all of them and then delete.
