how can i stop the text scrolling but still get notification?

While texting is there a way to not have the texts scrolling acrossed the top but still have a notification?

Welcome to Android Central!

Go to your messaging app, go to the settings of the messaging app, go to notifications, uncheck Preview Message. That should get rid of the scrolling text.
