What part of my cell is broken and can I fix it?

A

AC Question

Well two summers ago I went to the beach and my cell ended up with salt water damage. Instead of rinsing out the salt before drying it, I went ahead and put it in rice to drain the water. Crazy thing is the phone worked afterwards, however; the screen didn't. I could turn the phone back on and the touch screen still worked, but the phone screen itself stayed black.
Is it the LCD that's messed up? Or is it something else? And after two years is it too late to fix it?

Welcome to Android Central! Salt water is terrible to get into a phone. It might just be the screen that's damaged, but since water damage can be widespread and unpredictable, there's no way to know what other components might be damaged as well. You can always try to replace the screen, but don't be surprised if you find other problems later on.
