Email Widget

[AC Question]

I just upgraded to a S6 Active and Im trying to get the email widget to act like my Windows Phone did. When a new email comes in I want a number 1 to show up on the widget. When I open the inbox I want the number to go away even if I dont read the email. I want it to just count how many new emails have come in since I last opened the inbox not how many unread emails I have. Is this possible in android? Thanks.

I'm not sure, I don't use the phone's email app.
I know the Gmail app icon shows the unread emails.
I've never seen an email app do what you want, but it could be in the settings.
Have you checked?
I'll check mine and let you know.
