Why does my phone act this way?

i just got a new sony xperia c3 and i noticed a little problem which is mquite annoying. when i play music and i turn the screen off, the music will stop randomly and after a few seconds it will resume by itself. when it stops and i turn the screen on, it doesnt show that it is paused. it shows that it is still playing but the timer is stuck.

What music app are you using? Are you streaming the music or is the music on your phones internal storage or an SD card?
