How do I control what callers hear when calling me? I.e; music, ringing or other? Joy

People are complaining of loud music playing until I answer. I never set this up! 1st DROID -
1st "touch/smart" type phone what-so-ever!! hELP?!! THANKS! Joy

Hello. Have you heard it yourself by ringing from another phone.
Until the call is answered I can't see how the phone can affect this.
Maybe this is particular to your carrier / network and someone here knows about this.
I would think it's your carrier.

Did you install ringback tones? Those are from your carrier and replace the standard ringing sound callers hear when they call you. You should be able to edit or delete those on your carrier's website.

Laura, Verizon does it, AT&T used to do it but hasn't for a while. I don't think any other carrier has.

I had ringback tones on AT&T a long time ago, probably 5+ years ago. I know they were discontinued by AT&T, since I Googled "ringback tones" to find that Verizon link and also saw the mention of discontinuation on an AT&T link which I didn't post.

When ringback tones existed for AT&T and I was tired of using them, I unsubscribed on AT&T's website.
