Why wont my phone recognize the videos I put on it?

A

AC Question

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3, And I recently got a micro SD for it, a Samsung 128gb class 10 one. Which half of the people said it wouldn't support it, and the other half said it did, and I like my nerdy stuff, so I got it anyway. I've had some glitches with music files, but they work fine now, but now it won't recognize the video files I put on it. they're in MP4 video format, is this wrong? How do I get my phone to recognize the videos so I can actually utilize my space and watch them?

Welcome to Android Central! The official specs say that it will support a card up to 64 GB. While this doesn't mean a 128 GB card won't work at all, they can't guarantee it will function correctly, so this may be what you're experiencing.

The other thing to do is to run SD Insight and make sure the card is what it says it is. Counterfeit cards are relatively common.
