I updated and it deleted all my photos and videos

[AC Question]

I was in the middle of using my phone today and something popped up, i accidently pressed without realising it was an update, my phone turned off and back on with a little android robot on it while it loaded and went through the whole process, now ALL of my photos and videos are gone! I am gutted, I have not backed up to my pc since march and have lost so many photos! Someone pleaseeeee help me!!!

Hi - there isn't really anything you can do if they don't appear to be on your phone. Try the following:

1) Do you have Google Photo's app installed? if so, check there for the photos. If you don't have it installed then download it - start backing up your photos as of now to avoid this in the future. When in Google Photos swipe right to reveal the side menu, check "On Device" to make sure the photos aren't still on the phone.

2) Connect your phone to a PC, search the internal storage of the phone to see if they are there.
