What does it mean when the orange light is flashing on my htc one?

My phone is not charging it been on the charger all night and this morning it only has 2 percent .The phone was powered off to get a quicker charger but nothing also the orange light is blinking while on the charger does this indicate something?

Welcome to Android Central! I'm not sure exactly what the light means, but the behavior sure sounds like either a battery failure or a problem with the charging hardware. The first things to try are a different USB cable and/or wall charging plug. Let it sit on the wall outlet for another 4-6 hours undisturbed--if it still doesn't charge up, then the remaining possibilities include a dead battery, a faulty microUSB port, or a faulty motherboard. You'd have to bring it to a repair shop for any of that.
