Does anyone have any recommendations for an Android device (doesn't have to be a phone, but its the only ones i see with IR blasters) to become a universal remote?

I'm looking at the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini since it has a built in IR blaster. I have no interest in activating the phone for actual cellular usage.

Would it matter if i get a GSM or CDMA version of this phone? Can i skip the activation just fine on either radio types?

The S4 Mini does not have built in wireless charging, but i think i see some battery add-ons to add Qi support. Do these work well?

You don't need to activate the phone to run apps, like an IR remote, on it. Since you won't be activating it, it doesn't matter whether it's CDMA or GSM, but if you have a cellphone account, get one that you can use on that account if you ever need an emergency replacement phone.

Qi receivers do work, and they're all pretty much about the same.

All you really need is an app that gives you more than 1 or 2 device control (unless you only want to control 1 or 2 devices with it)
