I just received a HTC One from my friend he said he didn't want it so I just took it. When i press the power button it doesn't do anything. when i plug it up, it shows the battery icon and turns off turns back on and shows the red light and flashes twice while the battery icon is showing. The last part (when the light finally comes on) repeats overnight ive charged and charged and charged but nope. When i boot into recovery it shows the screen for five seconds then disappears and goes RIGHT back into the loop. when i hold the power button it shows the HTC logo for about 10 seconds then loops again. When I tried battery calibration it does the HTC Logo thing and periodically flashes the button lights on and off. Any help? Thanks in advance

Welcome to Android Central! It sounds like the battery is dead or defective. You could try a different cable and wall charging plug, in case that's the problem. Let it charge on a wall outlet for at least 4-6 hours undisturbed, then try powering on again. If it still doesn't work, then you'd have to bring it to a repair shop if you wanted to do anything more.
