AC Question

I just bought a Xperia E Dual phone running android 4.1.1 The internet I am using has a WPA/WPA2 password. I cannot connect to internet via wifi. The phone will state "connecting" for around two mins then will say disconnected. I have tried WPS and also have failed. I have tried factory resetting the phone, turn it off and taking out its battery, and restarting modem with no luck. Any suggestions?

This is the guest from above. I used the link you gave me above and I have tried those solutions and determined my problem is with the security. Whenever I turn the security off for my modem I am able to connect instantly. I have tried WPA2-PSK (AES) and WPA2-PSK (TKIP/AES) and I am unable to connect to the wifi with both of those options.

Although it's a much older security protocol, try changing to WEP (if available).

Have you checked if the router's firmware is up to date?

Glad it works! I wonder if this is because the Xperia E is a 2 year-old phone, but that's still not that old ...
