Why aren't the pictures I save from texts appearing in my Gallery?

I think I'm saving them correctly as the confirmation message says I am, but when I go to my Gallery they just aren't there - only pictures I've actually taken from my phone's camera OR pictures I've saved from WhatsApp.

Maybe they're in another folder? Have you checked?

Use your fime manager app to look for them. If they're there, and there's no file in the folder (or any folder above it) named .nomedia, the pictures should show (unless they start with a dot, like .nomedia - that's an invisible file). If you find them try restarting the phone. Saving a picture from a test should cause the media scanner to rescan (which is how Gallery and any other media app finds the files to show you), but it may not be.
