I want to purchase a phone for rooting and messing around with which one is the most compatible with root kits. I've never done any rooting before. I'm okay with it being an older phone, it's doesn't need to be the latest and greatest.

The Nexus 5 is relatively inexpensive now and would meet your needs.

    Thanks!

    What about a Nexus S

I don't want to spend that much on a device to mess around with.
