brought my android2 8" to radio shack because pad showed line only was told internal is broken

Welcome to Android Central! What's an android2? Is that the brand or model? Or is it a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2?

If the screen is only showing a bunch of lines, then either the screen needs replacing, or there's more serious damage to the motherboard.
