Does anyone know what setting can tell my phone to keep the data along with the picture? In other words, when I take a photo I want the photo date and time to stay with the photo forever . Whenever I download the photo to anywhere else it records it as having been taken at the time I downloaded. Galaxy S6.

Greetings and welcome to Android Central!

While I do not know if the Samsung Galaxy 6S has a photo time stamp setting (on my SGN.IV I can only view details) there are available apps for that from Google Play.

Hope you find what you're looking for and enjoy!

The timestamp on a file is the last time it was modified - which would be the time you copied it. The time the picture was taken is in the file's EXIF data, which you can read with an EXIF editor. If you want the time (and date) to show on the picture, you can use APD TimeStamp.

If you want the modified time on the file to be changed, you'll need a "touch" utility. Linux includes one, but Android doesn't, and I haven't seen one.
