What is a good AOSP ROM for the LG G3?

I have an LG G3 and was wondering what would be a good ROM to download. I have been thinking of downloading BlissPop 5.0 but I am not sure if there are any other ROMS out there with even more customization and better battery life. A few concerns I have is how do I download TWRP recovery safely? I have tried on my previous G3 and bricked it, I do not want this to happen again. Also another thing is, does it matter I am on Android 5.0 currently when installing a ROM as oppose to 4.4? Thanks in advance.
