What are the correct APN setting for Straight Talk BYOP?

Depends on which carrier you're using with Straight Talk. Could be any of the 4 major carriers. Contact Straight Talk for the correct APN settings.

straight talk is of no help. I cannot get my settings right to receive texts. They tell me its the sim card and keep changing it.

They might be right that it's a SIM problem. APN settings have nothing to do with SMS messages (plain text only). APN settings do affect your mobile data service which in turn affects MMS messages (those with graphics like emoji, or pictures).
