Unfortunately I downloaded the new Lollipop update they sent me not knowing it was a major update to system - my bad. It erased at least 1/2 of all my contact info. I went into AT&T store and they basically said, "Too bad, so sad, but there was nothing they could do." No one could figure out why it happened. Wish I had my old system in place and all my contacts.

Any one else experience this issue? Any thoughts?

Go into system settings - accounts - Google. See that contacts is synced. If not, then you didn't have the option synced before the update and the contacts are lost.

And if you did, only Google contacts sync. Phone, Device and SIM contacts don't. (So you should enter all contacts as Google contacts.)

Then go to Google Contacts/More/Restore contacts, and you can restore any contacts that have been deleted up to the past 30 days. Then your phone should sync them back.
