My S3 has a broken Screen, how can I switch into MTP mode to use USB?

I need to retrieve my contacts from my broken screen S3. I used Kies and it says I need to change to MTP mode but I cannot access the screen. Can I use Kies Air instead?

Unfortunately you can't switch the mode without a working screen. Also, I don't think Kies Air will work as you likely need to enable a setting or enter a password to connect the two devices (phone+computer).
