I updated the android software on my Samsung Galaxy Alpha yesterday and all was fine. I plugged it in to recharge overnight and a message appeared that the fingerprint scanner was not working and I was to use my backup password. Either I have forgotten that password or it has been overridden as it just won't unlock. What can I do? I have gone through Google Android Device Manager to lock and reset password but got the message that because a password already exists a new one is not required. Please help!!

    Hello. Welcome to Android Central.

There have been several threads raised about this.

Someone kindly registered and posted a possible solution yesterday but I have no idea if it works.
