There are pictures on my wife's tablet that we cannot delete.

AC Question

A year ago my wife's Samsung S5 phone was stolen, we hadn't password protected it, someone accessed her account. We thought Verizon had shut off the thief's access but they changed the name on my wife's email account to their's and added a bunch of photos. It allowed them to access her Galaxy 3 tablet. I have tried to change the name on her google account back to hers with no luck. When I go to "Pictures" they have loaded a slew of pictures that will not delete. If I click on them, I get the option to "Delete everywhere" or cancel. If I delete everywhere, it does nothing. I hooked the tablet to my laptop to try to find the physical location and cannot find them on the tablet. Any ideas how I can resolve these traces left by the dam hackers?
