Is this normal?

Hello.
I recently took a nexus 7 of my sister who was not using it but seem to be having extreme battery life problems.
I have tried many fixes (putting brightness down etc.)
Even charging takes a very long time.
Using an app I can see that screen is taking up 90% of battery?
Is this normal for nexus 7s and if not does anyone know a fix?

From a full charge, how long does it take for the battery to deplete and what is the screen on time (SoT) you see in the system settings > battery? The screen will almost always use a lot of battery...however, 90% battery usage is not a lot of time if it's been unplugged for 5-minutes, for example. If you could post a screen shot of the battery usage stats that would be of great help.

The battery life is normally around 2 hours Max. On an app that gives better battery statistics it shows that my screen is taking up the 90 percent. However on the system battery setting it shows that the screen is only taking up 30%. I know this is really stupid but I'm pretty new to this forums. How do you post a screen shot?
