Damaged my phone?

I have an S5 active and a few days ago I fell asleep while playing the new Forsaken World mobile game. The game at the time ran flawlessly on high settings without any lag whatsoever. I wake up 4 hrs later to find my phone still on on my bed and my game still running. It was pretty hot but ever since then after playing for about 20 or so minutes the game starts frame lagging pretty bad. for the past few days it has been frame lagging horribly within minutes of gameplay. what happened? do i need a new phone?

Open system settings - applications. Look for that game and clear the cache. You can also try uninstalling and reinstalling from the play store to see if that fixes the problem.
