Is it feasible to downgrade 5.0.1 to 4.4.4 on VZW SCH-1545?

I read that the 5.0.1 upgrade (lollipop) disables a "qfuse" permanently which makes going back impossible...Is this accurate? Also...I'm a complete novice to this XDA dev stuff...How can I tell if my phone is rooted? Do I need to root my S4 prior to doing anything? What I dislike most about lollipop is the white bkgrnd. colors and kid like prompts? Does anyone know if they will adressing these issues in the 5.1 release?

Have you ever rooted? Also, did you buy the device new? I would suggest reading up on what root is before attempting since you can break the device. You have a couple options to revert back to 4.4: 1.root and install a stock rooted ROM, or 2. Flash the factory firmer are via Odin. You can read up on what toot is below along with some useful resources to root your device.
