Why can't my LG l41c phone connect to 3G?

I bought a new phone (LG l41c) about 2 weeks ago and the entire time, my 3g data has not been working. This is very important to me. The phone is running android 4.4.2 and I have tracfone as the carrier. I have tried many things including...
1.)Checking mobile data settings
2.)Enabling and disabling airplane mode
3.)Calling *22890 (the tracfone wireless programming number)
4.)Removing the battery/turning the phone off and on
5.)A full factory reset
After I did the full factory reset I got the error message "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your SIM card may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care." I only got that message when it tried to connect to 3g, when I did it with wifi it worked fine. I have gone through multiple live chats with representatives of tracfone to see if they can fix it but I get the feeling it is an android issue and there is no android live chat that I can find. I really need 3g since I send so much time away from the house nowadays. If anyone can help me figure out how to fix this problem, I would appreciate it so much. Thank you.
