Why does my Note 5 take so long to send an MMS message/ not send at all?

I just switched to a Note 5 from iPhone 6+ today. I am loving everything but I am having issues sending MMS messages, they either take 5 minutes to send or they don't send at all. Also, receiving a picture or video takes forever or won't download. I am new to this, have I set something up wrong? I am currently on wifi. Thanks for any help! Would also appreciate any new advice!

MMS requires a data connection. If you have both wifi and data enabled, then the phone gives priority to wifi and may not send/receive MMS(w/pics or vid)... until it decides to... which is why sometimes it's slow, and sometimes it doesn't even go. Disable wifi when sending/receiving MMS.

Ok. Thank you so much. I did try disabling the wifi last night and use just data and it done the same thing, however, I don't have the best of service here at my house so that more than likely plays a huge role as well. I will try it when we are out and about today. I appreciate your help!
