Samsung galaxy s4 has no service/signal?

Today, my phone suddenly lost signal and I can't call or text anyone even though I'm in a public place ( a public library). My carrier is AT&T and usually, the words AT&T would show up on the top left corner on my phone at the notification bar but it disappeared. It shows that I have about 2-3 bars but I can't call or text anyone. But moments later, there's no bars even though I'm in the same place. Sometimes the AT&T words would show up for a couple of seconds then it would disappear again. My phone is updated to the most recent update. This has never happened before. I restarted the phone a couple of times but it still wasn't fixed. I can still connect to the wifi.

Check the network settings, also, make sure your phone isn't on airplane mode.

If you continue having problems, I'd recommend that you stop by an AT&T store and ask them for a new SIM. Sometimes the SIM goes bad, which results in connectivity issues. They will provide you with a new SIM free of charge. That has helped me in the past when I've had connectivity issues.
