Why won't my SD card mount to my phone??

[AC Question]

I dropped my phone in water so I quickly took off the case and pulled the battery and SD card out and once it dried and I put it back in, it says "please mount" even tho I've already put it in.

Welcome to Android Central! It doesn't take long for water to damage a phone's internal circuitry. Hopefully, it was just the SD card that was damaged--do other SD cards work in the phone?

haven't tried. it just happened yesterday and I don't have another SD card to replace it
