It depends on the signal level. If it's all solid green, anything from almost nothing to around 10%. If it's all red, close to 100%. The weaker the signal, the more power the phone transmitter is set to (if it's weak coming into the phone, it's going to be weak coming into the tower too), and power costs battery.
