How come I loose charge while charging?

I am using a galaxy3 android phone, sometimes I plugged my phone in at 45% and hrs later check it to find it at 19%, why is that?

Welcome to AC.

Check your charger, USB lead, USB port connector, and battery....it will probably be one of those.
If not, get back to us.
