Can anyone tell me what these two horizontal arrows are in the notification panel?

I had a software update today to android version 5.0 on my s5.... any idea what the two horizontal arrows mean and how / or if I can get rid of them? I did not have them before the update ? thanks in advance

It could mean that VoLTE (Voice over LTE) is activated. Check that.

Googled this same question and found myself here. Anyone any wiser? how do I check VoLTE? There seem to be no explanations as to what the arrows are, no new options, and they don't appear to do anything except hog space

Hello, welcome to the forums! Can you post a screenshot with that icon? This way it could be easier to help you. Which carrier do you have? In some phones the VoLTE switch is in settings - more networks - mobile networks - VoLTE call settings.

im with Three in the UK, never even heard of voLTE before

i've gone through all of the phone and i have nothing to turn voLTE off so dont think its that

Open the phone app and go into settings/ call you turn voLTE calling off from there ☺
