Android kitkat not connecting to wifi for months now. I need a fix or a new one

For months now cannot connect to wifi. Tried the fixes found in the web and not much success. Was told need to wait for next update but if I can't connect how can I get the update. Circle of errors and I am getting dizzy stop the madness for me please

Exactly what device are you using? Is the Wi-Fi turned on?

Not the Android version, the device that's having the problem.

On the device turn on the Wi-Fi, does it connect now?

On the device turn on your mobile data, does it connect to the internet this way?
