Wireless charging with protective case?

A

AC Question

Given the electrical properties of wireless charging, where the charger acts as a transformer primary and the phone coils as the secondary, is it correct to assume that wireless charging won't work with a protective case, such as a GS5 in an Otterbox Defender?

Depends on the phone, the charger and the case....I have a thinner rubber case on my nexus 4 and wireless charging works fine. I've heard from others with thicker cases like an Otterbox that they have trouble getting it to charge.
