My phone came back from warranty rooted. Is it normal?

AC Question

Hello everyone!

My phone is a LG G3 32GB D855. It went through some overheating issues which eventually led to its motherboard being replaced. The phone came back asking for your classic first boot questions like your name or if you want to log into Gmail etc. So far so good.

But I was surprised to see SuperSU in the apps and after playing with my phone for a while I realised it is rooted.

Is there a logical explaining of this situation? Why would it be rooted?

I thought OEMs attending to devices under warranty didn't like them rooted, in fact I thought rooted devices have their warranty voided.
