I have a Consumer Cellular Moto g (2nd Gen). I like the phone and the service, but I'd like to go with a dual active sim (with TracFone) if possible. Do I have to get an entirely different phone? Or is it possible to "unlock" this phone and capability?

Welcome to Android Central! Do you know if the phone actually has dual SIM slots? The model numbers that are dual SIM are XT1068 (UK), XT1069 (Brazil), XT1077 (China), XT1078 (Brazil), and XT1079. If yours isn't one of those models, then it isn't dual SIM. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moto_G_(2nd_generation)
