Apps are installed but missing

[AC Question]

When I turned on my s6 this morning it booted up strangely. The theme I was using was turned off and I noticed my home screen was unusually empty. I opened my app page and it was fairly empty too. All apps that I had put in folders I created are missing. They're still installed in my phone because I can access them through the recent apps button, but the icons to launch them are missing. Every app that either wasn't in a folder or in a folder that already existed was left untouched and in the exact same layout as when my phone shut off my phone last night.

This happened to me too, any resolution?

I would try a different launcher, like Nova, and see if that fixes it.
