I bought an LG G2 LS980 phone refurbished from Aliexpress. It was claimed to be unlocked to both GSM / CDMA / LTE and some other ones.
I am in New Zealand, so I tried both a Skinny Mobile (WCDMA) sim card and a 2Degrees (GSM) sim card.
The weird part is, the network status icon on the status bar is frozen with the loading circle. Waited for hours, no change in this icon.
I tried:
opening the back cover but found nothing suspicious
removing the sim and putting it in again
resetting the phone to factory settings
a different sim card
No matter what, this loading sign just won't go.
Please help!
[A QUICK NOTE: THIS PHONE SEEMS TO HAVE NOT ORIGINAL ANDROID SYSTEM. IT HAS MANY CHINESE APPS AND SEEMS TO BE ROOTED (NOT TOO SURE). I DON'T KNOW HOW TO INSTALL CUSTOM ROMS ETC SO HOPEFULLY I DONT HAVE TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT.]
