why does my htc g2 have a flashing orange light ?

when charging the notification light is flashing orange

Could be a bad... wall wart, usb cable, phone usb port, battery, phone charging circuit, connection between battery/phone.

Pull the battery and reseat it and try a different charger and/or cable. If it's the original battery, more than likely the battery is just old... phone released 2010?
