    I have been searching everywhere this morning and cant find a Android OS download as am trying to put it on a SD card and trying it on my old sat nav can anyone link me to a Download of the OS.

    Or point me in the Right direction ie: can this be done ?

    Android, like Windows, requires "drivers" for the chip and other hardware that it will be running on. The builds are customized for each device and as such can't be downloaded for installation on random devices.

    That said, there is a community of people that specialize in doing what you want to do - make versions of Android work on devices that didn't officially support them (putting Gingerbread on a first-generation Motorola Droid for example).
