    Welcome to Android Central! Do you mean you're in the Settings>Data Usage menu, and the Restrict Background Data option is greyed out?

    I have been working days on how to turn on background data on my Verizon ellipsis 7 tablet. I have checked with several forms but I have no answer. Please help.

    Hello Larry, welcome to the forums!

    I haven't used that tablet but in most Android devices you can switch background data in settings - data usage. If you tap on the overflow menu it will apply for all your apps. You can also select any app individually in that list.
