I have a 2 year old Galaxy tab 2.0 10.1. Several months ago the charger was starting to go bad, so I tossed it. I rarely use the tablet and just got around to buying a new one. The screen seems to light up a little but it is still blank.
Since it's out of warranty anyway, I popped off the back and removed the battery. After reconnecting the wires, I plugged it in and am able to get a battery logo briefly on screen, or press power+volume for a different menu which is prompting me to install a different OS.
I know the screen isn't bad. Do I need a new battery or is there something else going on??
