I have a ZTE grand max phone, all I want to know is how I can mirror it to my tv?

I already got a micro usb to hdmi cord, plugged everything in and I had no signal. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I hope someone can help

Welcome to Android Central! In order for a phone to output an image via cable to an HDTV, it has to either have an HDMI out port (which most phones don't have), or support MHL or Slimport adapters (which plug into the microUSB port--your phone doesn't support them). Your best bet is probably to get a Chromecast.
