problems with my S5

My S5 is on update 5.0, 5.1 is out and my phone won't recognize that 5.1 is out. My phones touch screen consistently freezes up on the lock screen, so I always have to pull the battery out to restart it. When I do restart it, it always gets stuck on the galaxy s5 screen when it starts up, and then it shuts off, restarts and repeats over and over again.

Welcome to Android Central! Is it rooted or unrooted? Running the stock ROM?
