How do I turn off my droid turbo without using the screen and without letting it go dead?

I have a droid turbo and I have dropped it. The whole screen is now greenish black and I cannot use it anymore. The touch part of it does not work. I have insurance on it so they have sent me a new phone today. But in order to activate the new one I have to have the old one turned off. I have no idea how to do that without using the touch screen. I have tried holding down the power button I have tried voice command and nothing works.

Welcome to Android Central! Most Android devices can be forced to shut down by pressing and holding Power for about 15-20 seconds. The tricky thing is that it'll be hard to know if the phone is truly off. You may just have to wait for the phone to run out of battery.
