Why and where did my bookmarks disappear to??

[AC Question]

Today I found out that my internet bookmarks (default Android browser) disappeared. They were there yesterday, but now they're just gone. I don't know why or how it happened because I didn't delete them or even do anything that would affect the bookmarks. The bookmarks were under a folder that seemed to be connected to my account, but that entire folder is gone. I didn't sync into Chrome or anything so my account shouldn't have been affected. What's more weird is that my phone seems to be perfectly fine and no malfunctions. Please help! Some of those bookmarks are really important to my work.
