How do I quit out of HBOOT (HTC One m8)?

A

AC Question

Okay so today I dropped my phone it dented in the volume button and also made the power button stop working. I can still press the power button but it will not do anything to put the display asleep or shut down the phone with a long press. Anyways I was trying to restart my phone thinking it could fix it when I accidentally brought the phone into HBOOT mode. Now I am stuck in this mode because I need to select an option to exit it and the selector key is the power button which is broken... Is there a way to exit this screen another way? I already tried draining the battery but when I plugged it back in it booted into HBOOT mode again.

Welcome to Android Central! The problem may be that the Volume Down button has been damaged such that it is always registering as pressed. Holding Power and Vol Down is how you get to that bootloader screen. You'd probably have to get the volume button fixed in order to boot normally (and get the Power button fixed while you're at it).
